BIDDY BALL (Grades K-1)
Biddy Ball is designed for our youngest players. Players in grades K-1 participate in our Biddy Ball program. Biddy Ball is run by William Penn Middle School head coach and LFE director, Dave Costanzo.
Biddy Ball takes place on Wednesday nights for one hour between 6 and 8pm. Starting the first week in December, the girls will participate in high energy, super fun clinic style workouts with the goal of teaching the girls the fundamental skills they will need to play in a real basketball game.
As the girls progress through the weeks, they are introduced to their coach and their teammates and we do less skill work, gradually getting the girls into some of the cutest 3 on 3 and 4 on 4 basketball games you've ever seen. We should sell tickets. Friends and grandparents should have their cameras ready.
Cost-$100

IN HOUSE ACADEMY (Grades 2-12)
LFE Academy Hoops is an excellant opportunity for beginners and developing players to hone their skills in a more cooperative and less competitive environment. Practice time will be dedicated to developing fundamental skills with an emphasis on footwork & pivoting, shooting, dribbling, passing, and individual defensive techniquue. As the girls progress in their skill development, team concepts principles will be built from basic to a more complex level. All players in this league will experience consistency in the offensive and defensive approach & systems. In addition, coaches will be supported by Academy Directors who will assist in the planning and execution of practices.
In House Academy practices start at the beginning of November and games commence the first Saturday of December. In House Academy teams practice one night per week for an hour. Games on Saturday also take approximately one hour to complete and are played in an area elementary or middle school depending on the division.
Cost-$190
LFE TRAVEL HOOPS
If your daughter's skill level has advanced to a point that you are seeking a more competitive environment, then LFE Travel may be for her. Travel players must tryout and be selected for travel teams, and there is no guarantee that all players will be chosen for a travel team. Travel teams practice at least twice per week, typically for 90 minutes at a time. In comparison to Academy, this is three times as much practice time per week. Additionally, travel teams play in competitive travel leagues against other basketball organizations and games can take place up to an hour and a half away from home. It is a significant commitment and we ask our travel players to make their travel team their priority for the winter season.
Travel tryouts typical begin the first week of October and teams are selected by the third week in October. At this point, practices begin and because we realize that fall sports are still in season, we ask travel players to make at least one practice per week. Once the fall season ends around the second week of November, we ask travel players to commit to making all practices and games. The ICBA travel season begins with a Queens of the Court Tournament the first week of December and regular season league play begins the week before Christmas. The season typically runs until the first or second weekend of March.
Cost-$180 must be paid before tryouts in early October. Total cost-$470
Spring League
Spring League will take place from March 20th- May 23rd. There will be no practices. Players will be placed on teams and will play games on Friday evenings. Numbers, teams, and coaches will dictate if divisions are playing 5 on 5 or 4 on 4. The smaller sided games will allow for more space on the floor and more touches for each player.
Due to gym space this league could have the potential to SELL OUT. Below are the maximum numbers that we are able to hold in this league. Last year we accepted 200 girls and we have built in room for growth yet again.
The 1/2 division can accept 32 registrants (4 teams of 8) and will play across the court at Penn Valley Elementary School @ 6PM.
The 3/4 division can accept 80 registrants (8 teams of 10) and will likely play at Pennwood Middle School, this could be subject to change from week to week.
The 5/6 division can accept 80 registrants (8 teams of 10) and will play at Pennsbury HS West Orange Gym.
The 7UP division can accept 40 registrants (4 teams of 8) and will play at Pennsbury HS West Orange Gym.
In the event that one of the division does not fill up, we will add players and teams in other divisions as long as we have coaches to lead the teams. The number of teams in each division is equal to the number of coaches we will need to volunteer to support the Spring League. Once the max number of players is registered, the registration link on the website will be deactivated. At that time, we place another link on the site for people to join the waiting list.
Players will wear their LFE Pinnies from the Winter Season. One referee will officiate the games and on LFE staff member will run the clock and scoreboard.
